Heather Todero Events may not have come about from your traditional starting point for an event planner. It isn't what I grew up dreaming about, or even what I dreamed about while in grad school. When thoughts of planning professionally filled my head I felt like I was falling into this working but after spending time really examining whether I wanted take the leap, I realized that I had acquired a lot of capital in planning through the following avenues:
Residence Life: Throughout college and grad school I worked in Residence Life as a Resident Assistant and Hall Director, respectively. We focused on "learning outcomes" based experiences for our residents. What does that mean? It means I want to know WHY we are doing x, y, and z at your event and also that I am used to making big things happen on tiny budgets. Counseling & Crisis Intervention: I have a Masters in Counseling and training in crisis intervention which means you can come to me with concerns and always find a listening ear that will ask the right questions to help you make the right decision for yourselves. It also means that I can work very well under pressure and in intense situations. I'm the person you want there when a vendor is late or a relative has decided that your cake table is in the wrong place and tries to move it-- I will troubleshoot these problems before you know it's happening, all while smiling and staying calm. Reservoir of Knowledge: Growing up we gifted my Nana the personalized license plate " Dr. Nana" because she seemed to know every ailment we might have and also because she was loving and had great bedside manner. Why am I telling you about my Nana? Because thankfully I've inherited at least part of that steel-trap memory of hers. I love reading and have far too many wedding blogs loaded into my reader, but that means I lock away tons of ideas. And lucky for you, I'm willing not only to share this knowledge but also to help you hunt out the best deals or figure out a way to DIY projects to make your wedding both gorgeous and budget friendly. And so I've created Heather Todero Events to share this experience with you because I believe that everyone should have the event that they dream of and that it doesn't have to meet some arbitrary dollar sign to mean it was beautiful, but most importantly, a blast. So if you think that we'll be a good fit, let's get started! Contact Me here. |
A Little More About Me, I love:
Introducing Mr. Todero!
This is my husband, Vince. He is one to keep me laughing constantly, he rubs my feet when asked, and loves collecting comic books and building costumes for Comic Con. He can make just about anything we can dream up (he made the YOU & ME marquee for our wedding)! If you have me help with a DIY project, there's a good chance he'll have hand in the development or execution of that project. |
